4 Substitutes for Dijon Mustard in Vegan Mac and Cheese

1. Wholegrain mustard

Ratio: 1:1

Different texture (grainy) but similar flavour profile - excellent in dressings and glazes.

2. English mustard (half the amount)

Ratio: 1/2 the quantity

Much hotter - use sparingly. Strong and assertive.

3. Yellow American mustard

Ratio: 1.5x the amount

Milder and more vinegary - use more to compensate for lower heat level.

4. Horseradish cream (half the amount)

Ratio: 1/2 the quantity

Provides similar pungency and heat with a different, more herbal note.
