3 Substitutes for Cocoa Powder in Date and Cocoa Energy Balls

1. Cacao powder

Ratio: 1:1

Unprocessed version with a more intense, slightly more bitter flavour and higher nutritional value. Direct substitute.

2. Dark chocolate (melted)

Ratio: 25g per tbsp cocoa + reduce fat by 1 tsp

Richer and more intense - account for the added fat and sugar in the chocolate.

3. Carob powder

Ratio: 1:1

Naturally sweet, caffeine-free alternative - different flavour (malty, no bitterness) but similar colour.
